On the top of the chassis are headphone and microphone jacks, a power button, two USB ports and an eSATA port. The power button is illuminated blue when the system is turned on.
The bottom of the Define R2 features a removable fan filter below the PSU mounting area and four die cast aluminium rubber bottomed feet.
The feet at the front of the Define R2 are considerably larger than those at the rear. This appears to be due to the position of the fan filter at the rear of the chassis, allowing only for smaller feet.
The case feet are very attractive and suit this style of case right down to the ground, literally! It’s great to see something other than the plain old rubberised feet we are subject to on most cases, assuming we get any feet at all. These metal feet are similar to those you find on AV receivers, and they give a sense of class and expense as well as keeping your system gripped to the surface it’s resting on.
On the next page we take a closer look at the Define R2′s Internal Appearance.
