Noctua NF-S12B FLX Review

September 14, 2009

Packaging & Contents

The NF-S12B FLX comes similarly packaged to previous Noctua fans. The packaging from the front is almost identical apart from technical details relating to this particular model.

On the bottom of the packaging the main features are outlined and a small description of the fan is listed in 7 languages. This time Noctua opted to include a small prompt up in the left hand corner of the bottom packaging to make customers aware of the flap on the back that opens out to show technical information on the S12B. Admittedly I went to check the P12 packaging and sure enough it also had a flap which was the first time I noticed it. I’m glad they included a prompt this time, especially for people like myself :D When the flap is opened you are met by a wealth of information about the fans bevelled blade tips, SSO-Bearing, how to install the fan using the supplied vibration compensators and much more.

After opening the box we are met with a plastic container housing the fan and the included accessories.

These include the vibration compensators, 4 metal screws (should you desire a more conventional mounting method,) Ultra Low Noise adaptor (U.L.N.A), low noise adaptor (L.N.A) and a 3:4 pin adaptor.

Let’s move on to the next page for a look at the fan itself.
